DESCRIPTION
The intrinsically safe wheel-stop shoe BTS-1I shall be used to prevent uncontrolled movement of railway vehicle at facilities where increased fire safety requirements are imposed. It is used only for fixing wagons with combustible and explosive substances.
The intrinsically safe wheel-stop railway shoes are made of cast brass. Brass provides reliable braking due to the high coefficient of friction, while not causing the formation of a spark when the wheelset and the rail come into contact. The shoe is installed on the rail after a complete stop of the rolling stock. Due to the high risk of accidents on the tracks, this product is prohibited from gluing, welding, and soldering, i.e. it is completely unsuitable for repair. During the operation of the shoe, a visual inspection for the detection of defects is carried out daily by responsible persons. Only certified people are allowed to service the wheel chocks.
Due to the expiration of TS 32-01124.323.72-9, starting from January 2021, shoes are produced in a new way as per TS NRPS.318546.366.008. New drawing of a shoe NRPS.318546.366.009, old drawing 8739.00sb.
