DESCRIPTION
This safety device provides forced drop from the rails of the wheels of spontaneously moving railway rolling stock.

The product is used to prevent wagons from leaving the station or railway track, depending on the direction of descent, by emergency dropping the rolling stock from the rails.

The device is mounted on railway tracks where there is no power interlocking system.

4 versions:

  • R-65 (drop to the right)
  • R-65 (drop to the left)
  • R-50 (drop to the right)
  • R-50 (drop to the left)

Design features:

  • installation is carried out strictly on straight or curved (radius up to 300 meters) sections of the railway track with wooden or reinforced concrete sleepers on the R-65 and R-50 rails
  • vertical rail wear of more than 10 mm is not allowed
  • installation of the derailer in the presence of wave-like wear of the head, saddles, sagging and other defects is prohibited
  • places of installation of KSB-R with a manual drive shall be cleared of debris, between the sleepers - from road metal to half the thickness of the sleeper, and must also be equipped with a drainage system
  • the side lipping on the rails are dismantled, after which the track width is set to 152.8 cm
  • pre-drilling a hole for installing the shoe
  • the lower part of the shoe is fixed on the rail strictly without gap. The device is transferred to the working position with the help of a curved brace-handle
  • upon completion of installation work, the working position is adjusted

Installation of the dropping (wheel-dropping) shoe KSB-R

KSB device consists of a tipper with a body and a shoe. The body itself is fixed on the rail with the help of a fishplate and bolts. The tipper turns on the axis, and the shoe is installed on the rail in the working position and removed from the rail in the non-working position. The guide stop has an inclination to the rail axis. The wheel flange runs over the KSB-R and the guide stop pushes this wheel off the rails.

The switch from the working position to the non-working position is carried out using the handle brace, the pointer rotates 90 degrees and displays «the barrier has been removed from the track.»
