Hyperloop technology improvement

Vacuum train technology

Russia announced plans to develop high speed transport technologies for the next 10 years, including Hyperloop vacuum trains and maglev systems.

Materials presented for the strategic session 'On the High Speed transport Development (Railways and Motorways)' state that in the nearest decade, Russia is going to join the global tech competition related to innovation transport system design.

Aerodynamic drag is one of the key challenges of high-speed travel. Pods in the Hyperloop system move through low-pressure (vacuum) tubes that minimize air resistance and make it possible to reach or even exceed the sonic speed.

Another important component is magnetic levitation (maglev) or hybrid systems that have the pod suspended over the rail by magnetic fields. These systems minimize friction, making movement smooth and fast.

Developing those technologies is considered a technological leap point for the Russian transport infrastructure; a part of our modernization and innovation development strategy.
