China Accelerates Train Up To 700 KM/H

World Train Speed Record

Chinese engineers have set a new world record for high-speed transport by speeding up a test magnetic levitation train up to 700 km/h in just two seconds. Carried out with a load weight of one ton on a 400 m long test section, the test ended with the train’s successful and safe stop.

The development is based on superconducting magnetic levitation; held by a powerful magnetic field, the train moves without contact with the rails. Without friction, the system is capable of reaching speeds that are inaccessible to conventional trains.

According to experts, this opens up doors for the emergence of next-gen transport systems, from high-speed intercity lines to Hyperloop-type vacuum highways. Furthermore, such accelerators can be used in the aerospace industry for testing equipment.

The test proves that rail transport is approaching a new technological era where speed will no longer be achieved through mechanics but through the capabilities of electromagnetic physics, experts say.
