New Railway Infrastructure Milestone
Chelyabinsk-Glavny railway station is running the Digital Railway Station (DRS), one of the most technologically advanced infrastructure pilots in recent years. In fact, it is aimed at comprehensive digitalization of marshalling yard management processes and introducing the state-of-the-art automated solutions into the railway industry.
Chelyabinsk was chosen as the pilot site to consistently implement intelligent route management systems, digital monitoring of rolling stock, machine vision and robotic systems, plus cutting-edge hardware and software solutions for managing railway station infrastructure.
The project’s key goal is however to improve station performance, reduce car handling times, minimize the impact of human error on the processes, and increase traffic safety.
The development of digital technologies in the railway industry opens up new doors for modernizing Russia’s transport infrastructure. Implementation of such solutions creates a new transportation standard, with automation, precision, and speed as three pillars ensuring sustainable operation of the railway network.
Alfa-ZHAT closely monitors emerging technologies related to railway automation, signaling, and digitalization of transport infrastructure, maintaining a commitment to implementing effective engineering solutions throughout the industry.
